Short term accommodation and community access

Caring, professional overnight respite

Providing a ‘home away from home’ for over 30 years, ECA is NDIS provider

based in the western suburbs of Brisbane.

About Us

Enhanced Care Association Inc. (ECA) is a not for profit organisation providing short term accommodation and community access to persons with multiple and complex health needs.

Established in 1989 by a small group of parents wanting to create a specialised service to support their child’s individual needs, ECA continues to be user-led organisation with parents and caregivers informing the strategic direction of the organisation.

Who we assist

ECA provides supports to up to 16 families, ensuring that each family has ample opportunity to book respite stays each term.

To ensure there is a ‘best fit’ for the participant, their family, and other current participants accessing our services, ECA completes an intake interview and assessment process that includes visits to the family home to learn individual care needs.

There are no catchment restrictions for where families live, however, drop-off and pick-up services are limited for those families who live outside the immediate surrounding suburbs.

ECA specialises in providing overnight respite in a home-like setting. Our purpose built home is set in a residential street in Sinnamon Park.

The ECA house has three bedrooms for participants, a large and airy lounge room, kitchen and generous outdoor courtyard.

Home away from home

ECA aims to make every stay as comfortable and relaxed as possible.

As a small service provider, we take the time to get to know each participant and their family/caregivers so that individualised and personalised care can be provided each stay.

  • Rooms decorated to individual preferences and likes, including specially bought quilt covers and sheets for each participant.
  • Individual meals and food based on individual preferences and instructions provided by your allied health team.
  • Evening and night time activities including movie nights.

Community Access and
Day Activities

All participants staying overnight take part in our community day program between 9am-3pm. Between overnight stays, our participants can book to attend our day program.

  • Set week day activity program including swimming and hydrotherapy classes, sailing with sail-ability and music classes.
  • Weekend activities vary but can include day trips to South Bank and the art gallery, shopping, walks through national parks and wildlife centres.
  • Day activities tailored to the weather and likes of everyone in attendance that day.
