Overnight Respite – Short Term Stays

ECA offers families a safe, caring, and relaxed overnight respite service that seeks to accommodate each family’s individual requests and needs.

Our booking calendar is sent to families quarterly and families can request further in advance, if needed, providing peace-of-mind for holiday bookings or other life events.

Our schedule of bookings varies for each family. For some families, one overnight stay each week is their preference; whilst other families prefer longer stays of 6-10 nights per month. To ensure familiarity and comfort, ECA requests that each client stay overnight with ECA at least once a month.

Overnight respite is provided at a ratio of up to 1:3, meaning 1 support worker with up to 3 clients. Shifts are ‘sleep’ shifts, meaning that once clients are settled for night, the worker on duty retires to bed at 10pm until 6am, and only tends to clients should there be a night disturbance.

Our Facilities
Set within the residential streets of Sinnamon Park in the western suburbs of Brisbane, Stanley Cottage provides our clients with a safe, comfortable ‘homelike’ environment for overnight respite and short term stays.

The house has three bedrooms for overnight stays, meaning the maximum number of clients overnight at any time is three.

Bedrooms are individually air-conditioned and bed linens changed to suit the tastes of particular young person staying.

There are two hospital grade bathrooms at the Cottage, both renovated to meet current building codes in 2014. Our young people have the option of either a bath or a shower, and are supported providing their own self-care as much as possible.

All overnight stays are billed under the NDIS Price Guide, “Short Term Accommodation”.
